Starboard ProKids World Day 1 (movie)
Not so much wind on day one so the organization decides to start with the U12 and U15. They sail a complete single for both categories. In the evening we have dinner in Palau.
Starboard ProKids World Day 2 (movie)
In the morning the wind is still weak and they decide to finish a double in the U12 and U15 category. In the afternoon they predict strong winds. At 3.00 p.m. they start with a single in the U17. The wind has picked up and everybody can plain fully. Rick and Nick sail in this category and meet each other in the semi finals. Nick who is sailing very strong wins and ends up eventually on a 2nd place and Rick 4th after a very nervous Youp. The Italian Matteo wins. By the time this single is finished it is too late to start the U20. Everybody enjoys the wind and have some fun on the water before going to the Pizza place further down. We are already dreaming of the next day which has some excellent wind predictions.
Starboard ProKids World Day 3 (movie)
In the morning the wind is blowing strong already and they start right away with the U20 category. I have full power with my S1 4.3. The level is high and in every heat you see switch moves and power moves. In the semi finals I have to sail against Vittorio Mazzoca who sails very well with switch both sides and nice double spocks. I am able to win to pull out some power moves like shaka and ss kono. In the finale I have to go against Mattia. I sail a pretty good heat but crash two times but I manage to do a nice shaka and ss kono. Mattia who is sailing strongly lands a very nice toad. I win the heat and walk around for the rest of the day with a big smile. They sail a double in both categories and Rick is sailing very strong this time and goes all the way to the first place. It is already 7.14 p.m. when I have to sail my finale and its again against Mattia. The wind has dropped a little bit and I decide to take my 4.7. Because it is so late there is hardly anyone anymore on the water and we have lots of space. I start my heat with a nice SS chacho 900 followed by a nice doube spock OH. I manage to do some ss moves both sides and a nice shaka and a ss kono. I had a good feeling after my heat which got confirmed when I was announced winner of the double. We finish with a nice barbecue at the club and everybody is tired after a very nice day with lots of wind.
Starboard ProKids World Day 4 (movie)
Against less wind today and they do a single and double for the women. Rolien knows to win this one easily. The wind stays weak and they do another single in the U12 and U15 category. In the evening there is pizza in Hotel le Dune and everybody prays for wind for the next day.
Starboard ProKids World Day 5 (movie)
The wind is very weak today and they sail a single with the youngest competitors from the local club. In the evening there is a nice barbecue but everybody leaves quite early as the wind predictions for the next day are good.
Starboard ProKids World Day 6 (movie)
The last day of the competition. Lots of wind already and we do another single in the U17 and U20 category. Rick knows to win again in his category. In my category there are a few unexpected early eliminations. Mattia and Vittorio go out in the quarter finals and end up on the 5th place. Christopher Kalk meats me again in the semi finals and ends up on a 3rd place. Marco who eliminated Mattia finishes 2nd and I am able to win for the third time in a row. I receive the World title without having to give in one single heat. A very successful event with a nice prize giving in Palau.
