I left on Tuesday morning to Athens to take the boat from there to Naxos. I saw already a lot of movies from the spot and it looked perfect for freestyle. The event would start on Wednesday evening with the first possibility for signing up. The forecast gave only good wind for Wednesday and Thursday so we had to do everything on Thursday because that was the first competition day of the event. On Wednesday we were free to train all day and had a supersession in the harbor in the evening at 6 O’clock and it was really sick. Everybody was looking to all of us guys and after every move we did in front of them they where sheering and clapping in their hands and it was really great to do. Thursday the wind didn’t pick up immediately in the morning but at half past 9 the first heat was started of the single elimination. The level was really high and everybody was doing the best they could to pas the rounds. My first heat was against Summereder and was probably one of the strongest opponents you could get in the first rounds to qualify but it went really well and I won. The next guy where I was against was Stan Promponnes. I saw him already sailing a lot and it was his home spot so he was really sailing good. We both came out of the water after having a really good heat and then they told me I had won so I had to go against Steven Van Broeckhoven. I knew I wouldn’t win this one but I tried my best and I really had my best heat of all the competition. SS Kono both side, Kono, Shaka and even a burner in the last seconds. Unfortunately it was not enough and I was out for the single elimination. In the double I had quite a good ranking and my first heat was against Summereder again who worked himself up. The next heat was the heat which was going to be very difficult because I was against Nicolas A. and he had already done some really good heats so I knew I had to keep going full on to beat him. I sailed a solid heat without falling even one time and came out of the water with a good feeling. Then they said me and Christofer Kalk both advanced and went to the next heat to fight for 6 place. Kalk was really sailing good that day with beating Nicolas S. and Edvan Da Souza so I had to keep going full on to stay advancing. I did another good heat with only 1 crash and a lot of moves done and I advanced. I was already getting pretty tired from all the heats and was now up against Zan. I was doing really well and my good heats became like a routine and I advanced so I was up against Meir now. The wind was quite low so it was better for me. I saw Yarden Meir sailing a really great heat but I did the same and I came out of the water without knowing if I had won or not and when they said I had won I was so happy because I made the top 3 at EFPT. Next up I was against Paskowski . I was already really tired from the 6 other heats and crashed a lot this heat but also made some nice moves but Paskowski was just ripping. I saw him doing a nice Shaka, a Double e-slider and I knew I had lost but it didn’t matter because I was already so happy with my 3rd place I still couldn’t believe it. The rest of the days the wind was sometimes just enough to do some supersession to get some action on the water for photos and things like that. Now I'm back at school catching up on what I missed. I really hope I get a chance this winter to do some good training because I really want to compete at EFPT again next year.
